Corporate and Social Responsibility

We believe that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is integral to our business and we are determined to make a positive contribution to our communities, be a good employer and minimise our environmental impact.

Our Workplace

We are committed to fulfilling our duties for the health, safety and welfare or our employees, providing good workplace standards, fair pay and safe conditions. We aim to employ a workforce that reflects the diversity of our customers/clients. Our employment policies, including a commitment to equal opportunity, are designed to attract and retain high-calibre individuals, regardless of age, disability, gender, partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation and will take all reasonable measures to prevent child or other enforced labour within our supply chain. We recognise employees’ freedom of association and ability to perform collective bargaining, whether through a recognised trade association or not.

It is our policy to provide staff with training and career development so they can grow and develop within the company. Where practicable, we offer flexible working to enable individuals to balance the needs and demands of both their home and their work lives.

We believe effective employee communication and consultation is particularly important in achieving our business objectives. We value employees’ opinions and seek to actively involve them in decision-making processes.

We expect every member of staff to take individual responsibility for their performance to work together to achieve our goals.

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our corporate and business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

MLL Telcom Limited is pleased to publish our Modern Slavery Statement for the financial year ending 31st March 2023, in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. Modern Slavery is a zero-tolerance issue at MLL and we are committed to preventing any aspect of modern slavery within our supply chain and business operations. As an equal opportunities employer, we are committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for our staff. We want all our staff to feel confident that they can expose wrongdoing without any risk to themselves. This statement sets out MLL’s actions to understand and identify potential modern slavery risks related to our business, and to put in place actions that are aimed at ensuring there is no slavery or human trafficking within our business or our supply chains

Our Communities

MLL is an active member of the communities in which we operate and aspires to be a good neighbour at all times. As well as making a positive contribution to local communities by bringing jobs for local people, we sponsor local causes, particularly those associated with children, the elderly and people with disabilities. We encourage staff to become involved in fundraising and charitable activities and allow them to nominate organisations the company may support.

Our Environment

We are committed to helping tackle climate change and reducing our impact on the environment. We have committed to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 and have a Carbon Management Plan which supports this commitment.

Our aim is to be able to demonstrate good environmental practices.  To this end, MLL Telecom operates an Environment Management System (EMS) which is certified to ISO 14001.

All employees are encouraged to participate towards:

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
  • Adopting energy saving practices;
  • Reducing the impact of waste on the environment;
  • Promoting the opportunity for viable means of recycling.

In addition, employees have obligations to ensure that the company meets its legislative requirements in respect of the environment.

Our Supply Chain

We expect all contractors and suppliers to adopt standards similar to our own and will encourage our partners to do so.  We will make sufficient investigation of the organisations we rely upon to ensure they meet their statutory duties and carry out regular reviews to ensure continuing compliance. We aim to pay undisputed invoices on a timely basis, and have in place a Payment Improvement Plan to improve performance in this area.
