The best part of working at MLL is the people. Getting to know people, understanding their needs and helping them bring their best selves to work is incredibly rewarding.
A typical day for me involves team calls for specific bids, organising workload and content and helping the team pull together to produce the best quality work to win business. Social interaction and teamwork is very rewarding and great for morale and mental wellbeing.
The fact that MLL is an SME allows you to feel more empowered where your ideas are heard. Also, smaller teams are stronger because of how closely we work. Working somewhere where you can visibly make a difference is exactly what you get at MLL.
Since joining as a Junior Bid Manager, the company has helped grow my confidence to lead bids and teams through on the job learning and a supportive team environment. This makes for a very safe environment to learn. MLL also supported me through my APMP Foundation certification which has benefited both me and the business in strengthening out bid management process.
Being a smaller business, there has also been opportunities outside of my role where I can use previous skills to improve processes, develop other teams and assist with the wider sales process.
Among my proudest moments are winning high-profile tenders and watching them come to life within the business. Seeing projects grow from bids we worked so hard on is incredibly fulfilling,
My personal growth in presentation and public speaking is another. Delivering presentations to large teams, including the Executive group, is something I never thought I could do. MLL helped me get there.
With an eye on the future, I am eager to take on more complex bids and eventually move into people management, driven by my passion for mentoring and leadership. Currently part of MLL’s mentoring scheme, I love helping others grow and watching them succeed.
