Moat awards MLL residential alarm connectivity contract

Competitive bid won on quality, procured under YPO Framework

Leading SME managed network service provider MLL Telecom announced today it has won an initial three-year contract valued at approximately £500,000 from Moat. This was procured under the YPO Framework and allows the contract to be extended for a further two years as required.

Moat provides affordable rented and shared ownership homes for over 23,000 families and individuals across Kent, Essex, Sussex and London.

For completion by mid-2026, MLL’s remit is to transition the BT copper lines currently connecting personal and property alarm systems at 83 Moat social housing sites to high-speed FTTP and FTTC fibre circuits.

MLL will work closely with Moat’s Lifeline Services provider, which is responsible for managing the housing association’s residential alarm and sensor solutions including those monitoring property security, lifts, smoke detection, flooding and personal wellbeing.

Rob Wood, Director of Data and Technology at Moat, said: “Our lifeline and alarm services are incredibly important to our customers who rely on them, and the Digital Switchover will help keep these essential services running. Following a competitive procurement process, we’re pleased to work alongside MLL Telecom to move over to fibre connectivity. Their commitment to working with our warden call system and alarm centre partners was clear, and we’re confident they’ll support our customers with a smooth transition to digital alarm services.

Gail Harvey, Business Development Director, MLL Telecom, said: “The very nature of this project makes reliable and fast connectivity especially important. We are therefore delighted to be partnering with Moat, one of the UK’s leading housing associations, following a competitive tender situation where a high-quality connectivity solution was desired. This included proven engineering expertise, responsive customer support and a professional team of field engineers capable of working in the homes of often elderly or vulnerable members of the public.”
