My role is field-based and so requires travelling all over the country. Being able to visit and explore new places I wouldn’t otherwise have seen is a real bonus! I also really value our work environment. We are like a big family where we trust and support one another to do our jobs.
Following an introduction from a good friend, I started at my chosen apprenticeship provider and with the help of my mentors managed to progress to 2nd man after just 12 months. I am now a fully-fledged 2nd man and progressing towards becoming a team leader. To help succeed, I know I can call on the help and advice of all the lead engineers. MLL has already started utilising me as a lead and I am trusted with documenting my progress which really helps with my career progression.
My proudest and most rewarding moment so far was completing my apprenticeship in record time, receiving a shining star award from MLL. This helped with validating my job role and makes me feel like a valued and trusted member of the team.
My goals for the next few years at MLL are to further develop my skills and knowledge of the job and to continue progressing as a team leader. Hopefully, I will head my own team in the future.
