MLL Telecom sponsors Telecoms Innovation Award at the Good Communications Awards 2011
26 May 2011
MLL Telecom is sponsoring the Telecoms Innovation Award at the Good Communications Awards, to be held on 14 July at the Emirates Stadium. The Awards, now in its seventh consecutive year, recognises excellence in communications in both central and local government.
Communication departments are facing huge challenges over the coming years and budgetary constraints mean that the value of communications will be under more scrutiny than ever before. Social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, has a vital role to play in helping to achieve savings, while also being effective broadcast channels that help build relationships. However these new methods of communication are still not a replacement for more traditional communications methods. The awards will recognise achievements in all areas, including public relations, IT and telecoms.
The Telecoms Innovation Award is presented to the Local Authority or Central Government Department that can demonstrate an effective use of a new or emerging communication technology, such as Voice over IP, RFID and SMS. Last year's winner was Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council who used mobile technology to improve service levels and change the way that inspectors carry out their roles.
