Local loop unbundling

Traditionally, National incumbent operators with a monopoly, such as pre-deregulation British Telecom, owned all local exchanges. Ownership of these exchanges, the equipment in them and 'The Local Loop' ensured that the operator had complete control over 'The Last Mile' and so the customers. Legislation forced these operators to open use of these exchanges to new generation operators and so 'Unbundle' the local loop, allowing for true competition and better services for the end-user. MLL Telecom is a licensed Local Loop Unbundler.
