A gigabit (Gb) is a unit of information or computer storage, abbreviated Gbit or Gb and is equal to 125 decimal megabytes Gigabit connectivity is a term describing fast transmission of Ethernet packets at a rate of one gigabit per second.
Generally, when talked in Connectivity terms, it means that the two ends of the connection are linked at this capacity.
