DLOS

This has two meanings:

Desktop Line-of-sight

An initial survey conducted on a computer with specialised planning software. This allows the user to ascertain if the two points of a circuit have tentative line-of-sight, clearing all topographical barriers. The result of a desktop survey needs to be confirmed with physical surveys at the actual sites, obviating the possibility of blockage.

Direct Line-of-sight

Where the points of a circuit have a physically proven clear and unobstructed view of each other.
