Leased Line

A leased line is a communication line that has been leased for dedicated private use. In certain contexts, it is known as a dedicated line. Typically, companies rent leased lines from telecoms operators to interconnect different geographic locations within their company. Unlike dial-up telephone connections, a leased line is always active, has no per minute charges and has a generally higher Availability.
