Ethernet
Ethernet is a family of frame-based computer networking technologies operating at speeds ranging from 10Mbit/s to 10Gbit's and beyond. Ethernet standards define a number of wiring and signalling standards for the physical layer, through means of network access at the Media Access Control (MAC)/Data Link Layer, and a common addressing format. Ethernet has become the most widespread LAN technology and is increasingly used as an interface in telecommunications networks.
